Gangnam style New

The 34-year-old Korean singer appeared on stage alongside host Kevin Hart, performing the horse-riding dancetogether. “You got over 100 million (views) on YouTube right now for ‘Gangnam Style.’ How does it feel?” Hart asked him, whose answer in Korean left the host lost in translation. “I am super-excited and so happy right now. I have always been dreaming of answering in Korean on this stage,” said PSY, who got a reply back from the host saying “Me too, son”.

American pop star Katy Perry, who admitted to having caught PSY’s “Gangnam Style” bug, appeared with her mouth open on the screen.

The UK boy band The Wanted, who joined with PSY to perform the sensational horse-riding move at the Hollywood Avalon Theater during the pre-party show a day earlier, kept repeating “Oh my God, is this really him?” upon seeing PSY on stage. The audience was electrified and aroused to enthusiasm when PSY and the pop band performed the song’s signature dance together.

“Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ has all the best elements of hypnotically weird one-hit wonders,” wrote Rolling Stone about the song which came out in July. “It also makes it deeper than its viral precursor, Rebecca Black’s ‘Friday'."

Mickael Pietrus injured in fall

BOSTON, MA - JANUARY 13: Mickael Pietrus #28 of the Boston Celtics celebrates his three point basket in the fourth quarter against the Chicago Bulls on January 13, 2012 at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The Chicago Bulls defeated the Boston Celtics 88-79. PHILADELPHIA -- Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers said Mickael Pietrus will spend the night in Philadelphia after suffering a questionable closed head injury (concussion) during Friday's 99-86 loss to the 76ers at Wells Fargo Arena.
Reading from a piece of paper after the team's medical staff gave him an update, Rivers said Pietrus had undergone an X-ray and a CT scan at a Philadelphia-area hospital. Pietrus was also scheduled for an MRI Friday night, but the team said he will not be admitted to the hospital. Pietrus will spend the night in Philadelphia and be re-evaluated on Saturday.

Rivers admitted it was a frightening scene on the court.
"It looked awful," Rivers said. "I saw it immediately -- I didn't think he hit his head, I wasn't sure, but I just saw his neck snap, so you knew that was bad. Obviously, he was throwing up on the floor, so that wasn't very good, either."

A closed head injury, according to the Brain and Spinal Cord website, is "a trauma in which the brain is injured as a result of a blow to the head, or a sudden, violent motion that causes the brain to knock against the skull. A closed head injury is different from an open head injury, in that no object actually penetrates the brain.
"Closed head injuries can be diffuse, meaning that they affect cells and tissues throughout the brain; or focal, meaning that the damage occurs in one area. Closed head injuries can range from mild to severe."
For a Celtics team that has lost two players to heart ailments (Jeff GreenChris Wilcox) and another to a season-ending wrist injury (Jermaine O'Neal), the injury is the latest blow to its never-ending health woes.
"It's just been a hell of a year right now," Rivers said.
Already reeling from the frightening injury scare with Pietrus, the Celtics also lost the services of Avery Bradley to a sprained left ankle.
Bradley appeared to tweak the ankle late in the first half and departed with 41.1 seconds to play in the second quarter. With Ray Allen out due to his own ankle ailment, the Celtics were left depleted at the guard spot.
Rivers applauded his team's resiliency, even after Friday's game slipped away.
"We have a resilient group, though," Rivers said. "I'm so proud of our team -- we just keep sustaining injuries. But guys are just trying to play and win. That's really nice. ...
"It's maddening, but it is what it is. We are passing the test. That's all we can do. It's just tough. Every night it seems like -- what's amazing is it has nothing to do with age; it's the young guys. Things happen. But I keep telling them, we've decided to be that grind team; we gotta keep doing that."
Paul Pierce said he's just hoping Pietrus isn't seriously injured.
"It's always tough when you see your fellow NBA player, regardless of who it is," go down, Pierce said. "When you see someone laying there on the ground, not moving and getting carried off the floor on a stretcher -- it's tough. In any sport; I'm a sports fan and whenever you see that, you feel for the person, feel for their families. Those (injuries) can be career-ending type of things, and you see it all the time. We just hope that he's able to make it through these things."
Marquis Daniels endured a frighteningly similar scene last year suffering a freak spine injury that ended his season in a game against the Orlando Magic at TD Garden.
Daniels required offseason surgery for a lifelong spine condition. He admitted the situations are different, but seeing Pietrus carted off certainly resonated for him.
"I just started praying immediately," Daniels said. "You never like to see anybody down like that, let alone your teammate. It's kind of a tough moment, but he's a tough guy. He's going to pull through."

iPad 3 to Include Haptic Display Technology to Provide On-Screen Textures?

A series of last-minute rumors and speculation are suggesting that the iPad 3 might include haptic technology that would give on-screen objects texture. The rumors have linked Finnish company Senseg with Apple and have been fueled by Apple's media event invitations carrying the tagline "We have something you really have to see. And touch."

While speculation about Senseg and Apple has been floating under the radar for some time and a rationale for it was posted in our forums last weekThe Guardian was the first major source to put forward the specific claim yesterday, noting that conversations with Senseg executives earlier this year left The Guardian with the impression that the company was indeed working with Apple.
When the Guardian met Senseg's chiefs in their Helsinki offices in January, its directors declined to say whether they had spoken to Apple about the use of the technology in the iPad – but said they were talking to tablet manufacturers. [...]

But asked this week whether Apple is a customer for the E-Sense technology, Petri Jehkonen, Senseg's technical marketing manager, declined to comment. Asked whether Apple is not a customer, he replied: "That would be for Apple to say. My comment is no comment."
The Next Web has also put together a speculative piece suggesting that haptic feedback could indeed be making an appearance on the iPad 3.
The bits and pieces that I’ve managed to uncover are tantalizing and have led me to believe that at least one major new feature that we have not seen before on an Apple device before will make an appearance on the new tablet.

I’ll be honest up front: I have been unable to nail down exactly what it is. [...]

The most tantalizing and attractive possibility I could come up with was the introduction of a touch-feedback technology for the iPad’s display.
The report continues with a reasoned analysis of how Apple may have been able to quietly include the technology in the iPad 3 and the unobtrusive nature of the haptic technology itself that could have been kept behind the scenes.

And now Pocket-lint is weighing in with its own claims, once again pointing to quotes from Senseg executives as hints that the company may be working with Apple.
"We won't be making any statements until after Apple's announcement," a company spokesman told Pocket-lint with a timing that's just too obvious to be anything else after we asked them the direct question of whether Senseg is involved in the iPad 3 launch.
The report also links back to a Trusted Reviews report from June 2011 in which Senseg claimed it was working with "a certain tablet maker based in Cupertino."

Apple has certainly expressed interest in haptic technology in the past, as evidenced bypatent applications on the company's ideas. But specific rumors about incorporating the technology into iOS devices have been essentially non-existent until now. With just a few hours to go until Apple's media event, observers don't have long to wait to find out if the last-minute claims are true.

The iPad 3 has 1GB of RAM

Apple's third-gen iPad rumored to feature 'never before seen touch technology'

Senseg could be the "touch secret of Apple's new iPad." Senseg officials met with the newspaper in January, at which time the directors said they were talking to tablet manufacturers but would not comment on any negotiations with Apple.

WHITNEY HOUSTON FUNERAL Casket Under LOCKDOWN Until Burial

0218_houston_casket_getty_ex
The casket of Whitney Houston will be heavily guarded until the burial Sunday morning, with a whopping 10 security guards tasked with keeping watch on it ... TMZ has learned.

According to our sources, the casket will be kept at the cemetery until tomorrow's burial ... but will be well-protected until then.

We're told the family will get an opportunity to see Whitney one more time between now and tomorrow morning.

Whitney Houston funeral

"We are here today, hearts broken but yet with God's strength we celebrate the life of Whitney Houston," the Rev. Joe A. Carter told the packed New Hope Baptist Church after the choir behind him sang "The Lord is My Shepherd."
Mourners including singer Jennifer Hudson and Houston's mother, gospel singer Cissy Houston, stood, swayed and clapped along in the aisles. Gospel singers BeBe Winans and the Rev. Kim Burrell joined with pop stars like Alicia Keys in paying tribute to the 48-year-old pop superstar who first began singing in the Newark church.
"You wait for a voice like that for a lifetime," said music mogul Clive Davis, who shepherded Houston's career for decades.
The service had lighthearted moments too - Kevin Costner imagining a young Houston using her winning smile to get out of trouble, Houston's cousin Dionne Warwick offering short insights about the singer.

Others were more mournful; singer Ray J., who spent time with Houston during her last days, broke down crying. His sister, singer Brandy, put her arm around him. Cissy Houston and Houston's daughter, 18-year-old Bobbi Kristina, clutched each other. Toward the end of the service, Bobbi Kristina and Ray J. embraced at length and spoke. Others gathered near the front of the church and hugged each other.
The most powerful moment was reserved for the end. As Houston's casket was carried out, her hit "I Will Always Love You" played. Bobbi Kristina began crying, and the sobs of Houston's mother rang throughout the church.
"My baby!" she wailed.
Stevie Wonder and Oprah Winfrey were among the biggest names gathered to mourn Houston, along with Hudson, Monica, Brandy and Jordin Sparks - representing a generation of big-voiced young singers who grew up emulating her.
Costner, her co-star in "The Bodyguard," which spawned her greatest hit, remembered a movie star who was uncertain of her own fame, who "still wondered, `Am I good enough? Am I pretty enough? Will they like me?'"
"It was the burden that made her great and the part that caused her to stumble in the end," Costner said.
Filmmaker Tyler Perry praised Houston's "grace that kept on carrying her all the way through, the same grace led her all the way to the top of the charts. She sang for presidents."
Warwick presided over the funeral, introducing speakers and singers.
Houston's mother was helped by two people on either side of her as she walked in and sat with her granddaughter and other family to begin the service. Houston's ex-husband, Bobby Brown, briefly appeared at her funeral, walking to the casket, touching it and walking out. He later said in a statement that he and his children were asked repeatedly to move and he left rather than risk creating a scene.
As the funeral began, mourners fell quiet as three police officers escorted Houston's casket, draped with white roses and purple lilies. White-robed choir members began to fill the pews on the podium. As the band played softly, the choir sang in a hushed voice, "Whitney, Whitney, Whitney."
Close family friend Aretha Franklin, whom Houston lovingly called "Aunt Ree," had been expected to sing at the service, but she was too ill to attend. Franklin said in an email to The Associated Press that she had been up most of the night with leg spasms and sent best wishes to the family. "May God bless and keep them all," she wrote.
A program featuring a picture of Houston looking skyward read "Celebrating the life of Whitney Elizabeth Houston, a child of God." Pictures of Houston as a baby, with her mother and daughter filled the program.
"I never told you that when you were born, the Holy Spirit told me that you would not be with me long," Cissy Houston wrote her daughter in a letter published in the program. "And I thank God for the beautiful flower he allowed me to raise and cherish for 48 years."
"Rest, my baby girl in peace," the letter ends, signed "mommie."
The service marks one week after Houston, one of music's all-time biggest stars, was found dead in a Beverly Hills hotel in California. A cause of death has yet to be determined.
To the world, Houston was the pop queen with the perfect voice, the dazzling diva with regal beauty, a troubled superstar suffering from addiction and, finally, another victim of the dark side of fame.
To her family and friends, she was just "Nippy." A nickname given to Houston when she was a child, it stuck with her through adulthood and, later, would become the name of one of her companies. To them, she was a sister, a friend, a daughter, and a mother.
"She always had the edge," the Rev. Jesse Jackson said outside church Saturday. "You can tell when some kids have what we call a special anointing. Aretha had that when she was 14. ... Whitney cultivated that and took it to a very high level."
A few fans gathered Saturday morning hours before the service as close as they could get to the church, some from as far away as Washington, D.C., and Miami. Bobby Brooks said he came from Washington "just to be among the rest of the fans."
"Just to celebrate her life, not just her death," said Brooks, "just to sing and dance with the people that love her."
Others were more entrepreneurial, setting up card tables to sell silk-screened T-shirts with Houston's image and her CDs. But only the invited would get close to the church; streets were closed to the public for blocks in every direction. But their presence was felt around the church, with a huge shrine of heart-shaped balloons and personal messages that covered the street corner around the church entrance.
Houston's death marked the final chapter for the superstar whose fall from grace while shocking was years in the making. Houston had her first No. 1 hit by the time she was 22, followed by a flurry of No. 1 songs and multi-platinum records.
Over her career, she sold more than 50 million records in the United States alone. Her voice, an ideal blend of power, grace and beauty, made classics out of songs like "Saving All My Love For You," `'I Will Always Love You," `'The Greatest Love of All" and "I'm Every Woman." Her six Grammys were only a fraction of her many awards.
But amid the fame, a turbulent marriage to Brown and her addiction to drugs tarnished her image. She became a woman falling apart in front of the world.
Her last album, "I Look To You," debuted on the top of the charts when it was released in 2009 with strong sales, but didn't have the staying power of her previous records. A tour the next year was doomed by cancellations because of illness and sub-par performances.
Still, a comeback was ahead: She was to star in the remake of the movie "Sparkle" and was working on new music. Her family, friends and hard-core fans were hopeful.
The funeral is for invited guests only. Houston is to be buried next to her father, John Houston, in nearby Westfield, N.J.

Gary Carter, Hall of Fame catcher who won World Series with Mets, dies at 57

Hall of Fame catcher Gary Carter, whose single for the New York Mets in the 1986 World Series touched off one of the most improbable rallies in Major League baseball, died on Thursday. He was 57.
Carter was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor last May, two weeks after finishing his second season as coach at Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida.
"I am deeply saddened to tell you all that my precious dad went to be with Jesus today at 4.10pm.," Carter's daughter Kimmy Bloemers wrote on the family website. "This is the most difficult thing I have ever had to write in my entire life."
Carter was an 11-time MLB All-Star and three-time Gold Glove winner. His bottom-of-the-10th single in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series helped the Mets mount a charge against the Boston Red Sox and eventually beat them.
"His nickname 'The Kid' captured how Gary approached life," the Mets said in a statement. "He did everything with enthusiasm and with gusto on and off the field. His smile was infectious. ... He was a Hall of Famer in everything he did."
Carter played nearly two decades with the Mets, Montreal, San Francisco and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He led the Montreal Expos to their only playoff berth and was the first player enshrined in Cooperstown wearing an Expos cap.
Carter was known as much for his effervescent personality as his talents at the plate and behind it. He earned his nickname as an eager teen in his first MLB camp and the label stuck for the rest of his career, and beyond.
"An exuberant on-field general with a signature smile who was known for clutch hitting and rock-solid defense over 19 seasons," reads his Hall plaque.
The bronze plaque shows him with a toothy grin, too, forever the Kid.
"Gary was one of the happiest guys in the world every day," Mets teammate Mookie Wilson once said.
He was especially enthused during the biggest moment of his career. The powerful Mets were down to their last chance in the '86 Series when Carter stepped up with two outs. No one was on base and New York was trailing Boston 5-3 in the bottom of the 10th inning in Game 6.
Carter said he had just one thought in mind: "I wasn't going to make the last out of the World Series."
True to his word, he delivered a clean single to left field off Red Sox reliever Calvin Schiraldi. Kevin Mitchell followed with a single and when Ray Knight also singled, Carter scampered home from second base.
As Carter crossed the plate, he clapped his hands, pointed at Wilson on deck and clapped again. Moments later, Bill Buckner's error scored Knight for an amazing 6-5 win. Carter rushed from the dugout to join the celebration at home plate, catcher's gear already on.
Overshadowed by the rally was the fact that Carter had tied the game with a sacrifice fly in the eighth. Then in Game 7, Carter drove in the tying run in the sixth inning, and the Mets went on to win their most recent championship.
Carter homered twice over the Green Monster at Fenway Park in Game 4 and totaled nine RBIs in that Series. Since then, only two players have gotten more in a World Series (Mike Napoli for Texas in 2011 and Sandy Alomar Jr. for Cleveland in 1997 each had 10).
Overall, Carter hit .262 with 324 home runs and 1,225 RBIs in his career. He set the MLB record for putouts by a catcher, a testament to his durability despite nine knee operation

Whitney Houston to be buried next to father

Whitney Houston's final resting place will be next to her father, John Russell Houston Jr.
Houston will be laid to rest at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey, after funeral services this weekend, a source close to the family confirmed. Houston's father was buried there in 2003.
Fifteen hundred guests are expected to attend the private funeral services including Aretha Franklin, Clive Davis and Stevie Wonder. Houston, who was 48, died in Beverly Hills, the day before the Grammy awards.

The funeral service will be held at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CAR OF THE YEAR

Official candidates

BMW 3 SERIES SEDAN
The BMW 3 Series Sedan is the original in the compact sports sedan segment and over the years has come to symbolise the aesthetic appeal, dynamics and sporting capability of BMW.
next...
With its dynamic and elegant lines, the sixth model generation of the world's best-selling premium vehicle highlights the sporting character of the brand's mid-size model. Although the new BMW 3 Series has grown in all dimensions compared to its predecessor, it retains a perfect balance of sportiness and elegance. As in previous generations, the sedan's dynamic proportions are shaped by the sweeping bonnet, short front overhang, long wheelbase and set-back greenhouse typical of BMW.

The wedge shape of the new 3 Series' silhouette and its wider track (+ 37/47 mm at the front/rear) underline the sporting appearance of the new BMW. By clearly accentuating the width of the car, the multi-faceted surfaces of the expressive front end give the BMW 3 Series a sportier face than ever. A wide, squat interpretation of the upright, slightly forward-slanting BMW kidney grille emphasises the stance of the new BMW 3 Series. LED accent lights positioned like eyebrows above the striking twin headlights with corona rings (if xenon headlights are specified) lend an extra intensity to the classic BMW focused look. The headlights now extend up to the frame of the kidney grille, merging the headlights and grille of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan into a single stylistic unit and adding further emphasis to the car's broad-set stance. The BMW 3 Series replaces the central air intake of its predecessor with two larger intakes, which are positioned underneath the headlights to the outer edges of the front end and add extra depth to the car's sporty styling. On the far left and right of the main ducts are small vertical intakes which help create the "Air Curtain". This new technology improves air flow around the front wheels, enhancing aerodynamic efficiency and reducing fuel consumption at higher speeds.

The closely spaced, squat openings of the kidney grille, with their eye-catching surrounds, form the most prominent element of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan's front end design. This is also where the precise lines of the heavily contoured bonnet finish. The result is a front end that appears lower-slung, giving the BMW 3 Series a clear sporting edge when viewed head-on.

Powerfully taut surfaces with sweeping lines dominate the side view of the BMW 3 Series Sedan, stretching the car visually and lending extra verve to its dynamic stance. The flanks of the car are shaped by an eye-catching "double swage line" made up of two character lines running alongside each other. The higher swage line emerges out of the low-slung front end and flows over the front wheel with an understated sweep, in a nod to the sedan's fleetness of foot. The second swage line develops lower down behind the front wheel and follows a delicately arching path towards the rear. Together, they reinforce the dynamic wedge shape of the car's flanks and create vivid light and shade effects below the swage line, which draw further attention to the car's wide track.

The striking interpretation of the hallmark BMW Hofmeister kink at the base of the C-pillar injects the silhouette of the new 3 Series with even greater élan. Alongside it runs a fine contour line from the roof into the boot lid, giving the roof an even lower appearance from the side. The resultant sense of sporty yet elegant lightness spreads all the way down the sedan's sides, with the slightly rising shade line low down on the heavily contoured side skirt adding further emphasis. The large light surfaces above the side skirt serve to enhance the lightness of the car's flank lines.

CHEVROLET CAMARO CABRIOLET
Camaro: the new Chevy head-spinner
The jaw-dropping design of the fifth generation Chevrolet Camaro is an irresistible invitation to get in and drive away.
next...
The legendary car's return after a ten year absence brings with it a fusion of modernity, confidence and soul

It is hard to decide where to look first - the immediately recognizable V-shaped nose that has become a Camaro trademark, the unmistakable tail, or the sculpted rear shoulders. All details of the car have been carefully designed to re-capture the spirit of the legend that first rolled off production lines 45 years ago while creating an thoroughly modern, 21st century sports car.

"What we have created is a delicious blend of high-tech power, agility and efficiency wrapped in a stunning design. The Camaro has an iconic presence, unrivalled by competitors," says Wayne Brannon, President and Managing Director of Chevrolet Europe.

From the outside, there is no mistaking the four-passenger coupe and cabrio as a modern interpretation of its legendary 1969 predecessor - strong, wide shoulders, long dash-to-axle, low roof line and large wheels.

The look
High-intensity discharge headlamps with glowing xenon halo rings, mimicking deep-inset eyes, complement the V-shaped front grille and give the Camaro an aggressive ready-to-pounce stance. The sweeping long hood and short rear deck accentuate the Camaro's iconic look and feel.

The hood carries a 10 centimeter power bulge, leaving little doubt as to what lies beneath and highlighting its sports car heritage.

The one-piece body shows off the bold lines that have become a distinguishing feature of all Chevrolet cars. Only here, the style is better defined and the clean creased lines are set off by muscular wheel arches. Rear quarter gills are stamped into the sheet metal just fore of the rear wheel, with a nod to a design element of the original concept car.

The sculpted rear shoulders set the stage for a stunningly-designed rear end. The unique, European specific LED tail lights are also inset and complement the image portrayed by the front of the Camaro. The dual outlet stainless steel exhausts have polished tips and complete the ensemble, creating an appealing blend of technology, design and performance.

A lower body side spear is formed seamlessly into the front quarter, door and rear quarter sheet metal delivering a muscular wheel-oriented cue and refined forward moving appearance, clearly defining its rear-wheel capability.

The Camaro sits on standard 20-inch wheels, a final touch of design and also a needed feature to transfer the engine torque to stunning forward movement. The wheels are positioned outward and flush with the body, giving the car a planted appearance.

The only feature more spectacular than the body of the car is what is underneath the hood.
The outlook on the world suddenly changes when you sit in a Camaro.

HYUNDAI VELOSTER
Not two, not four, but three. It is with three doors, an unusual architecture in the car world, that Veloster is entering the trendy small car segment.

Far from being an exercise in style, the Veloster design is born from our analysis of contemporary society. Like most of us, Veloster wants everything. The life of the fun-loving single as well as that of the family tribe, the practical urban car and that for making journeys into the countryside. Hence this automobile with two faces, equipped with a single door on the driver's side. On the passenger side, however, Veloster possesses two doors adapted to family life. The functionality of a hatchback and the sleek looks of a coupe. Simultaneously both coupé and saloon. Veloster represents a confident design-based step function while affirming a bold and audacious character. An emotional renaissance illustrated by the new Hyundai brand identity < New Thinking. New Possibilities >.

The design

Presented in January 2011 at Detroit Motor Show (USA), Veloster is Hyundai's most recent offering in the compact segment. It heralds a new design for forthcoming Hyundai models : hexagonal radiator grill, almond-shaped distinctive headlamp design, lines with rounded angles which give the impression of a young feline straight out of an Asian animated feature film. The Veloster name itself is the result of the contraction of "velocity" and "roadster", which evokes the image of wild cat in full fight. This neologism also underlines the inventive nature of the vehicle and emphasizes its multi facetted personality by associating stitched leather - red, grey or black - for the seats and the steering wheel, with ingenious high-tech equipment such as on-board multimedia and an automated security system. As far as colour is concerned, the exterior simply exudes dynamism. The body colours are striking, vivid and distinctive. Orange, green, and yellow, are in stark contrast with the traditional black, grey, and white car colors and exude an refreshing optimism.

PEUGEOT 208
The 208 gives form to and refines the new aesthetic codes of the Marque. 'Floating' grille, light signature, 'boomerang' rear lamps - each detail designed in complete coherence with the general volume, structured by a  "spine" the impression of which is even visible on the roof.

Sculpted, athletic, both pure and sophisticated, its style projects the Marque towards a renewed and attractive modernity, suggesting sensuousness and energy, smoothness and mischief. The two body types have been given and entirely different treatment, with a tree-door version the quarter panel movement of which calls to mind one of its illustrious older siblings.

"The strength of the 208 lies in its style : it is a real ball of energy. It has the potential to please everyone, without being a weak compromise, like a popular piece of music that touches the human soul regardless of culture" Gilles Vidal, Peugeot Style Director.
