29 Years Old And Hearing Myself For The 1st Time

[Technician]
It moved, its’ like so close, there you go. Right over it. There you go.
[Hearing Implant Patient]
It’s beeping.
[Technician]
So now technically your device is on.
[Hearing Implant Patient]
(smiles and laughs)
[Technician]
Can you tell?
[Hearing Implant Patient]
(Starts to cry from happiness)
[Technician]
Oh, it’s exciting. Here you can put it down for a second. Just get used to the sound. What does it sound like.
[Hearing Implant Patient]
(cries)
[Technician]
(whispers) do you wanna pass a tissue.
[Hearing Implant Patient]
I don’t wanna hear myself cry. (cries and smiles)
[Technician]
Can you hear me?
[Hearing Implant Patient]
(nods yes)
[Technician]
Can you hear your voice? Does your voice sound pretty loud?
[Hearing Implant Patient]
Um no not really
[Technician]
That’s good
[Hearing Implant Patient]
My laughter sounds loud
[Technician]
You’ll get used to all of that over time. You wanna hear your husband say something.
