For most couples, three is a crowd in the newlywed nest. For Prince William andKate Middleton, three's company: When in London, the pair will be joining William's brother, Harry, at Clarence House.
"House" is probably an understatement: The London residence, one of the official royal homes, may seem cozy compared to the adjacent St. James's Palace next door, which shares a garden.
Still, it's pretty swank digs. In the summer, the residence, which dates to 1827, opens its five ground-floor reception rooms to the paying public. If that spread is any indication, it's not bad for a temporary home. The reception area boasts, according to its official website, "Fabergé, English porcelain, and silver," along with a display of watercolors painted by the prince of Wales.
Clarence House is the official residence of William's father, Prince Charles, and his wife, Camilla. William and Harry also stay there when they're in town, which isn't often. Harry is based in Suffolk, where he's training as an Apache pilot.
William and Kate will mostly spend their time in Northern Wales, where William will be stationed for two-and-a-half years with the Royal Air Force. For now, the couple will make do with a suite of rooms at Clarence House when they're in London. Until, that is, they choose somewhere more permanent. We're guessing, minus Harry.
