10-year-old Texas Boy Steals Mom’s SUV

A 10-year-old Texas boy was arrested and charged with a felony after stealing his mother’s SUV, going for a joyride, and later causing a collision.
Zilan Fitch grew angry with his mother, Christi Sanders, after receiving a punishment. The boy decided to lash out against her by snagging the keys and making off with the family vehicle. Luckily, the family also had a second vehicle, and Sanders quickly set off, following behind her son.
To Sanders’ surprise, Fitch was able to control the car fairly well, considering he had never been behind the wheel of a car before. Despite keeping the SUV between the lines and even using proper turn signals, Fitch’s joyride came to a screeching halt when he was rear-ended at a stop light after slamming on the brakes.
Fitch was charged with felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Despite being in rush hour traffic, Fitch knew enough to remove the smashed car from the road. He pulled over into a nearby parking lot where he was arrested and later released.
