Don’t miss supermoon over UAE tonight

Moon tonight will be closest to earth in 20 years.

People in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Arab countries will be able to see a bigger moon on Saturday night as it will be reach the closest point to earth in 20 years, according to a Saudi astronomy expert.
The moon will take a fill shape and appears bigger to the human eye on Saturday at 9.10 pm Saudi time (10.10 pm UAE time), said Majid Abu Zahira, head of the Astronomy Association in the western Saudi Red Sea port of Jeddah.
“At that point, the moon will be around 365,576.9 km from earth, which is the closest distance in 20 years….it will be a full moon and fully lighted,” he said, quoted by the Saudi Arabic language daily Sharq.
He said the moon can best be sighted when it starts appearing at sunset, adding that it will “bigger and brighter than usual.”
“I urge all people not to miss this chance and to watch this unique phenomenon…they need no glasses or any other equipment because the moon will be easily seen and those who will watch it will notice that it is bigger….this phenomenon will happen again after 20 years.”
